Hi everyone

The club's last baking competition was held last year so it's time to do it again.

The competition involves bringing home-made baking efforts to the club after training on Thursday, 26 November. Everyone present will be able to taste the creations, and vote for their 1st, 2nd and 3rd place preferences. The votes will be counted. First, second and third place will be announced with the winner receiving a prize (to be announced shortly...)

The reigning champion is conveniently named (Ange) Champion so let's see if she can do it again or how competitive the rest of you are.

You have 3 weeks to look up your receipes etc.

Just a reminder that the cake bake competition is next Thursday (26 November) after the club run.

The winner will receive a £30 voucher from Run and Become.

There will also be a collection box if anyone would like to make a donation to Movember.

Hope that there'll be plenty of competitors and judges...

Further to Amanda's post on Facebook, I just wanted to remind you about tomorrow's cake bake (after the club run).

Sounds like there's going to some competition for the £30 voucher from Run & Become (including maybe a mircowave cake...)

Good luck everyone!

A big thank you to all who contributed to this event last night. The standard of baking was high and the competition fierce.

In third place - Lolly, with a wonderful lime cake.
In second place - myself, with a blueberry cake.
In first place - and retaining her title as the club's master baker, Angela Champion, with her strawberry cream gateaux. Love

Thank you to:
Run and Become for the generous prize (doubling the contribution from the club)
Llandaf RC for letting us bring in cakes
The tasters and judges (hard decisions this year)
Those who helped clear up
Charity donations for Movember, totalling £45
Kate Russell (who unfortunately missed out on last night due to work)

We're definitely doing it again next year, and I recommend practising by making cakes for the Gwent League. BigGrin

This is a great addition to the social calendar and fast becoming one of the most popular.
It was buzzing last night.
Very many thanks and congratulations to everyone involved - clearly loads of hard work and greatly appreciated by this sampler!
