Congratulations to Graham Breen for a magnificent PB this morning at Eastleigh, where he shaved more than a half minute from his previous best to record 31:52 in 12th position.
Of course, we knew it would take something special to dethrone Martin Rees in the 2014 club rankings, and this was something special. It was the fastest 10 km by a Croup athlete since Julian Baker ran an identical time at Atlantic College in 2004, and before that Richie Bullen 31:50 at Cardiff in 2002. So it was the fastest for 12 years.
Perfect timing to revise his marathon PB of 2:29 at London (no pressure). Good luck, Graham.
To the best of my knowledge, Stuart Crees, Phil Cook and Maria Zubizarreta also ran at Eastleigh, so it will be interesting to know what they thought of it. It is a race with a reputation for fast times.

Definitely a race I will be considering for next year. Well organised with a reasonable number of runners, the course is basically flat ~ there is a longish but not too steep climb just after 3k but when you get to the top there is a long decent back down to the 5k point.

Would make a good Club trip next year. We stayed in the Holiday Inn which was within 200 - 300m of the start and finish.
