Stanley Skupien has refused to hand back his medal after finding a lost number and using it to claim a medal. He found the number near the finish line and ran from tower bridge. Jake Hoilway who number it was was refused a medal despite running the whole distance, raising money for charity and looking more like a runer than Stanley who was holding the number aganist his chest! I always though it againist the rules to run without a vest! Would the absence of time chip on Stanley trainners and one on Jake trainners would not ring any bells that something was not right. Considering other cheets were made to hand back their medals I think Stanley should too, not only is it an insult to Jake but all runners who have completwd the distance and to those who have falied to get a place. I hope the orgainsers will do the right thing and give Jake his medal and a free place next year.
Could the volunteers not see that Stanley had not run the full 26 miles while Jake had? You can always tell when someone has ran a marathon!
