Well done Aine Kenny on your on 3.18 and to Gethin Parker on his 3.33 which considering his (lack) of training is brilliant. http://results.scc-events.com/2017/?pid=tracking

I was watching this on TV around 8.45 and is was typical Irish weather - lashing down. Hope it wasn't too heavy.

Well done Aine and Gethin! Looked like great running conditions too! Also, Mick, looks like Steve Jones' British record has gone to relative unknown Alex Milne, who was 3rd. Where did he come from? He ran 17 minutes better than his time in London!

The leaderboard says Jonathan Mellor was first British runner in 02:12:57, position 10. http://results.scc-events.com/2017/?pid=leaderboard

Thanks, Dave, but I think Alex Milne will be infamous after this, rather than famous. He was disqualified - and I'm guessing didn't run the entire course. It will no doubt make the post script column in the athletic journals.

Interesting! Straight after the finish it showed him as 3rd. It looked too good to be true. What a clown if he didn't run the entire course.

Just checked this out and he wasn't disqualified - apparently there was an error in the results, but Alex Milne wasn't even running Berlin, he was running in the Ealing half marathon (where he was 3rd).

Thanks everyone. Really happy with that and really enjoyed the experience (well it's easy to say that now!). You couldn't buy that weather - it was perfect for me anyways. The rain wasn't too heavy - maybe for a brief spell but it was mostly a light mist. I think it may have impacted the number of spectators though but it was still very well supported. I thought the WR would have gone with the big 3 running! Maybe if Bekele and Kipsang had gone all the way and completed with Kipchoge, they may have pushed him harder.
