Now that the dust has settled and most have recovered from Saturday and looking forward to 26.2 at VLM or elsewhere, I'd like to add a quick personal comment. Having struggled with dramatic decline in form in last 3-4 years (even allowing for old age, heavy travel schedule, pressures of work etc.), I increasingly look with bemusement (though understanding) when some are disappointed with their times. I can understand this however believe you me, it could be worse! I was just glad not to have slowed any more since last October! Having got accepted in Boston this year, I was asked to run by the MS society. As running a good time is not on the cards, this has given me an incentive to put off retirement (from marathons at least) for another year at least! Many of you are aware of the connection. Please give as generously as you can - I won't ask too often and it will probably hurt me more than you - take a look at the photo on my Just Giving page! Thanks to Phil and John for giving me the chance to mention this last night. I was reminded when I sat down that I had forgotten to mention Boston (marathon)!:)
