Well done, everyone, especially in what must have been tough conditions everywhere.

Gerry O'Beirne also ran Dublin in 3:49. It is rumoured that he enjoyed his post race Guinness. Well done Gerry.

Hi Amanda,
I also ran Dublin in a massive PW of 4:09:41 (possibly reflecting the fact that the Cardiff Half was my longest training run!). Thoroughly enjoyed it though, terrific support all along the course and incredibly lucky with the weather (blustery but sunny). The highlight for me was being shouted at by Derek Williams at around 15 miles - enough to keep anyone going!
Dublin can't be bettered for post-race rehydration and (even though it sounds like heresy) the best pint of stout in the city is not Guinness but the Porterhouse Oyster Stout...

Thanks everyone. It was a great day for it - perfect weather (the cool breeze was a plus for me!) and the support, as always, was brilliant. Yes, spotted Derek Williams at around 15 miles - was great to see him. I highly recommend this marathon to anyone - that was my third year in a row to do it (before I did the first one I said that I would only ever do one!). Now its become a habit which may prove difficult to stop!
