The theme for last week's post was for real weather making you into real runners.
Only 4 real runners showed up (although some of you are excused as you were away racing).
However - it appears that we have far too many armchair athletes!
So I had a word with the "divine powers that be" and arranged for more real weather this weekend, if only as an opportunity for you all to prove yourselves.
You have to think positive - get out there!

Beat me to it to post Mick - thanks. Probably best to ignore the weather forecast and I am certainly going to be there and hopefully doing the 17m. Love it!

Bring on the weather 😊. I'll be there. Planning 10-12 miles probably 8:30/9min miling depending on what the legs agree to. Hope to see a few of you there.

Thanks Mick. I was able to enjoy your weather choice at 8am for a run from home into Pontcanna fields. Does that count?

Thanks Ali - of course it counts! And thank you to everyone who turned up - many more than last week!
To those of you who either couldn't make it or were put off by the weather - resistance is futile!
We aim to make you all into real runners by the end of the winter.
Next weekend "Special Offer Double Whammy" - Blaise Castle on Saturday and Coq Noir on Sunday!
Do you think you're tough - well show us HOW TOUGH!!

I ran this morning, does that make me a real runner now? I have ran in the snow and went along Whitchurch cannel so different from the summer a real winter wonderland.

Tracey, you're both a real runner and a real writer and have a style of your own at both!
And, in thanking you for bringing my pint over last Thursday when I was surrounded by members filling their faces with cake, I'd say you had a fair chance of becoming a real waitress too!
Have you ever considered becoming an air hostess?

I managed 3.5 miles on coast. Was almost blown to Somerset over Bristol Channel and my headband blew off so decided to call it a day! LOL

Presume Nadine made her debut successfully up the famous hill to the Coq Noir. Sorry, didn't stick around after due to being drenched! You know it's time to call it a day, Carol, when your headband flies off - that sounds like some serious wind!

Er Mick! I think you find there's only room for one trolley dolley at the club! BigGrin
Thanks to Nadine for wearing her lucky rain jacket this morning - needless to say somehow we missed all the rain too!

Thanks everyone for the company. Not quite up to the Coq Noir yet, a flat 12miles was enough for me, but I hope to get back up that hill again soon. Hopefully see you all again next Sunday 😊.

Nadine, I and Paul Morris all made up the hill and sampled the delights of being blown back along the Taff Trail from Caerphilly - never has 16 miles felt quite so rough. Matt - you were obviously moving way too quickly to get hit by the rain! Now that I'm a real runner I can hold my head up at tomorrow night's hill session!
