Stuart Ball, a new member of Les Croupiers, has asked me to find someone who could guide run with him at the World Half Marathon Championships in Cardiff on Sat 26th March (Easter Saturday). I'm unable to do so as I've committed to helping out on the course.

Stuart is completely blind. For the past two months he's been running with the club on a Thursday night, and running parkrun on a Saturday morning, guided by one of a small number of Croups members. None of us had experience of guide running prior to running with Stuart.

Stuart completed Cardiff Half in 2009 and again in 2012, in times of 2:25-2:35. Based on his current parkrun times I would estimate a finish time of 2:05-2:10 for a half marathon, so the guide runner would have to be capable of that. There would be no need to undertake all of Stuart's half marathon training with him, although it would obviously be a good idea to get used to running with each other prior to the event.

I have arranged free entry for the guide runner - who will still get a number/timing chip/medal etc.

Please could you let me know if you're interested, or know someone who is, so I can put you in touch with Stuart? It doesn't have to be a member of Les Croups, but hey, it would be rather good if it was!

I would like to help whoever is the one who his main guide.
I have experience in taking a partially sighted and blind runner around a marathon.
but with my current problem I have cant be confident (at the moment) of taking someone on my own.
at the moment I'm working on getting back to how I was before the g2g.
I could be perfectly fine by march but I know by experience that Stuart needs to know now so all he has to worry about is training.
