What a great day! This event has been going since 1989, and 25 years is a long time for any race. But today it was as good, if not better, than ever. Of course, the weather helped enormously, and we can count ourselves lucky as several parts of the country struggled with snow. Numbers (154) were good, and the standard was electric - it was like a who's who of Welsh distance running. Well done to Nicola Gething (Parc Bryn Bach) on regaining the title she won in 2012 - and coming just two days after setting a 5 miles PB in Glynneath.
James Thie was a class act today after finishing a close second to Richie Gardiner 12 months ago. His time, 25:31, was the third fastest ever - Martin Rees still holding the record at 25:06 from 1997. And it was Martin's first run at Old Father Time since that day - 26:48 isn't bad for 61 eh? However, the athlete I was most pleased for was Lee Ahearne (second in 26:37). He has me in stitches on his facebook posts. Have to question his logic about going to watch Cardiff City afterwards though.
Biggest thanks to the volunteers, as always. From the Gaffer and Race Director, John, to his sidekick, Paul (David Bailey), to Jeff and all the results team, and everyone who helped out on the course, marshalling, timekeeping, supporting, whatever. And thanks to the staff at the rugby club. Another great day for the club and thanks to everyone who was a part of it. I'm sure the results will be up in a jiffy.

Very enjoyable race, many thanks for the words of encouragement as I ran round the course. I hadn't realised how much I'd missed racing.

Doh! It's so long since I did this race I forgot folks would be in the clubhouse afterwards.
Thoroughly enjoyed it today, what a glorious day for it.

Could I also thank all those that turned up and helped in any way, without the assistance of everyone it would not be possible to put the race on.

A great day indeed, fantastic organisation, support, marshalling, camaraderie - everything you would want from an event and that's why people return year after year. Hopefully we can target 200 runners next year with a bit more 'word of mouth' in advance to promote the event further. Well done and Happy New Year to All.
