                If it's the third Wednesday in May, it's usually the start of the SSAFA race series, and that generally means yet another revision of the record books by Martin Rees. Earlier this evening, in quite breezy conditions, Martin ran 16:40 thereby demolishing the previous best for a 63 year old, set by David Oxland at Horwich in June 2014 at 17:25. Martin has already set new world figures this year for a 63 year old at half marathon (Bath, on 13 March, 73:48) and 10 miles (Lampeter, on 27 March, 56:14). And as you can see below, that was his 12th single age world best at 5km.
