To all members that are contemplating using Leckwith Stadium track for daytime training, please be aware of the new opening times.
As Cardiff & Vale college are the new operators of the stadium they have changed the opening times to :-
Mon to Thurs. 5pm-10pm, Friday's 5pm-9pm. Cardiff AAC also have exclusive use on a Mon & Thurs evening.
It is not good news for regular users that are retirees, shift workers students etc.

Not good for a stadium that is serving a major UK capital city!

But still better than almost all of the swimming pools in Cardiff.

That's rubbish. I can only use the track in the day time, and I am sure I am not the only person in that situation.

I don't think it will be that far into the future that athletics will be pushed out of there now that it is run by Cardiff & Vale College during the day and the House of Sport (ie Cardiff City FC) during evenings and weekends.

Alex Donald informed us (well Martin Williams) this evening that the decision to close the track during the day has been reversed, and Welsh Athletics have had this in writing.
