Despite the announmance that people would be disqualified for wearing them it seems like every other runner was wearing them I ended up pushing my way through people at one point there was three people running abreast all with I-pods on. When I started running no one wore these things everyone talked to each other and encourage each other or someone shouted Ogi Ogi Ogi but now everyone now seems to be in their own little world. This to me has spoilt what was once a very socialable sport. There is also the safety aspect of it you cannot heard the marshals, traffic or even an amblance siren. How can you realy experience a race particularly a big race like London with ear plugs in? don't you miss out on 95% of the race? What was really shocking was the man not only running with plugs in but pushing a push chair with a dog on a lead! Now is that dangerouse or what? Completing a race is challenging and is all about self determination and confidence, after all Mo Farrah doesn't wear a i-pod he believes in himself even after a bad race!

I forgot to mention we are an anti i-pod club. It's on our website we encourage social able running.
