Panorama last night was compelling indeed. Seems like it's relatively easy for athletes to escape detection. The interview with UK Anti Doping on this morning's Today didn't inspire confidence. Where there is money in sport, there's cheating.

The drug problem goes back years. It was believed that many athletics from behind the Iron Curtain were on drugs to enhance their performance but it could never be proved. There has always been argucements since the days of Olga Korbut and Nadia Commanice that gymnastics were given drugs to delay puberty. There are two ways to deal with the durg problem, frist to ban people for life from all competitions. Unfornat;ey this doe not alwys happen. Or set up competitions for those who wish to take drugs and leave the Olympics and other competitions for those wish to complete clean and on talent alone!
