I received an email the other day from Brackla Harriers that said that the opening time was 8am not 8pm tomorrow (1st October). The website does still say 8pm though. I'll try at 8am anyway. Hope this doesn't cause anyone too many problems.

It's now been confirmed that entries open at 8pm tonight. The website says that the email sent in the last few days saying it was 8am was 'unofficial'.

How about the alternative pudding run. We meet 9.30 at Pontcanna oval, in fancy dress if you want, we do a lovely run then go to Cafe Castan after. Not only do we get to run with friends we don't spend ages removing sand from our shoes. Who needs the Big Dipper when you have the Black Cock.

Site crashed and no place for me Pleased for Brackla that their race is so popular. But rather sad that part of my Christmas tradition has ended. I did about 7 of the puddings from the mid 90s, and even remember it being entry on the day. I fondly remember the series of post race dinners organised by Fran. For those craving muddy races - check out the WFRA site or postings from Simon. Fell races are entry on the day, cheaper, muddier and madder than the 'pudding'.

Not being much of a drinker i don't know how my water got spiked into wine yesterday. Under the influence i bleated on about us doing something fun on the morning of the pudding run for those not in the pudding run. The concept is that it is not a race but a club run that is all inclusive, all abilities, various distances. We turn up by 9.30am and all aim to finish by 11.30am to have food/drinks etc possibly Cafe Castan. There was talk of all putting a few £ in a pot to get some bucks fizz or we could just ask people to bring whatever they want. We can firm up the details closer to the date but the run itself could either be the handicap 10 or for those eager ones the good old Black Cock run.
Hope i am not stepping on anyones toes here by attempting to organise something - if i am apologies.....
I will be wearing my Miss Santa outfit.

This sounds like a good idea to me. I think you'd need to check with Phil regarding whether you need to get agreement with the council, though if it's basically a small scale social run I imagine it would be fine.

I was chatting with some of the parkrunners from Brackla last Saturday and it was suggested that if you didn't get a place through the mad 35 minute scramble then try dropping them an email as they do hold back some places for club runners, approx 60 places were mentioned for last years run? Give it a try perhaps!
