After a 10 mile walk on the hills around Castell Coch, Craig yr Allt and Caerphilly Mountain on Saturday morning, I noticed the Cathays Beer House on Crwys Road for the 1st time. It's in the old post office, opposite the start of Monthermer Road.

Being thirsty and curious, I went in!

It's a small, quirky bar, selling 3 or 4 real ales straight from the cask (by gravity, so without hand pumps), and 6 real ciders straight from boxes.

They also have an enormous range of bottled beers, including gluten free beer and vegan beer.

They open at 10 am on Saturday, so ideal for a quick post parkrun pint!
