This category is supposed to be reserved for racing, and parkrun isn't supposed to be a race. Then again, Cardiff Blackweir is not typical of parkrun in general. With the tenth anniversary just a week away, today's "winner" was Charlotte Arter in a new ladies course record 16:10. Last time she ran here she was also first athlete to finish. Claire Hallissey was the first lady athlete to win the Cardiff event outright, so it's a pretty exclusive club. So - come on the ladies!

Actually this was the first time that Charlotte "won", last time she finished 2nd to her pacer James Thie. She will be back before the summer to have another go. Just checked the History log and it has Charlotte as the winner, I remember the run and swear that it was the other way round!!Just a few stats after today's event and as we close in on our 10th Anniversary next weekend: Based on Course Records we are the 3rd quickest for the Ladies, and 4th for the Men. If you take both into account we are 2nd behind Bushy Park. On overall numbers we are the 5th biggest in the UK behind Bushy Park (1705), Southampton (1134), Cannon Hill (1025), Poole (949) and Cardiff (902). Edited by user 10 February 2018 23:46:30(UTC)
