Once again I am organising our annual village race, it is on Saturday week (July 16th) at 3pm. The race although only 3k is multi-terrain and follows the historic dram road that once took coal from Maesteg to Porthcawl Docks by horse drawn drams in the early 1800's before the advent of Steam railways. Lots of our club members have supported it over the sixteen year's of its running, but in recent years the entry numbers have dropped, I personally would have stopped organising it, but our village are desperate for it to continue. Therefore for this year's race (it is permitted) we are giving FREE entry to UKA club registered athletes and £2.00 entry to non members. Every finisher receives a FREE drink (non alcoholic for u/18's) and a FREE Burger. Plus race Prizes. There is also traditional races for the u/11's (egg + spoon) (sack races) etc also a FREE Climbing Wall/ Clown/ sideshows and Live Entertainment all day ! Please try and support it and bring the family along, our village would love to see you. Coytrahen village is approx. 1.5 Miles off the M4 - (Jct 36 Sarn services/Mcarthur Glen) and is situated on the A4063. Just follow the signs to Maesteg, and you will arrive at our village.
