Best of luck everyone running this year's Boston Marathon (Maria Zubizarrta, Gerry Chrispie, Aine Kenny, others maybe?)

For those who weren't in the club house for last Thursday's 'announcements', Gerry gave a very moving account of the reasons for him running this year's race and the charity he is raising money for (the MS Society). Charity fatigue always a risk if running is your thing - times also tough £wise for many - but if you have some pennies this a special case and richly deserving of another plug for one of the toughest but affable of club members

here's the link

Good luck Gerry, and everyone else taking part! (on Sky Sports this year according to the interweb..)

Thanks Tim. I have not been on forum last few days due to combination of working late and travel to Milan. Am I beginning to sound like Mal (Firouz) !? A poor week for training and another one coming up as I've another work trip before Boston so it's just as well I've got the motivation of running for charity rather than for time. Here's the link if anyone has not seen

Thanks to all Les Croupiers who've supported generously already - it will give me the motivation to complete what will possibly, if not probably, be a PW (and that's being realistic, not negative)

Gerry

That was hard work. My worst ever marathon by a long way.In a way I was glad I was running for charity! Conditions did not help - very hot for first few miles (even though cool in early morning) then a head wind however at the end of the day I did probably did not have enough long runs done - this is a very honest sport. Well done to Maria and Aine - results already in results section.

That head wind was welcoming. It helped keep the temperature more tolerable 😩
