For a while now I have been helping with a small but new charity called 'The Gift of Grace' It is an educational project set up by Dr Grace Kerry who is from Nigeria herself, to help disadvantage children in Owerre-Olubor Delate state of Nigeria, primary orphans and girls. Girls in Africa is get a poor deal from education. They often forced to leave school to look after older family members or sometimes they leave at around 11 years of age because there are no toliets for them to use. Also many girls are forced into prositution often sent to places like Britain unaable to leave until they paied ther fee. ( as highlighted recently on tv) The charity also provides a meal as many of the children often go with out food, and brith certificates for those who do not have one. There are plans to build a proper school with toliets, regualrly health checks as well teaching parent to make things such as mosterizing cream to use at home as well to sell at the local market. I will be using the Cardiff half marathorn and the Britol to Bath marathorn as my fund rasing.
